A brutal battle of BBQ supremacy took place at the Murphy homestead during the summer, as Anina and Wally faced off in a WWF-sanctioned "BBQ Beef Smackdown!" wrestling event.

The face-off took place during the dinner hour when Wally challenged Anina for the barbequed meat he found in the kitchen. "The next thing you know, they were smeared in BBQ sauce and locked in a heated match," said an amazed Elli. "They were rolling all over the kitchen floor."

Anina described the battle as "the dirtiest fight this side of Mike Tyson," and called Wally a "lowdown dog."

Television sponsors initially deemed the match "too saucy for TV," but agreed not to withdraw their support when several key sequences were blacked out.

"Anina does not fight fair," explained Wally, "and it was clear that she needs to be taken to the mat with any means necessary and shown who is the King of BBQ Beef around here."

Phinn expressed dismay over the match, saying he thought it set a bad example for any youngsters who happened to be tuned to the Fox Network. "BBQ beef belongs in the home," he said. "Not on the floor, and not on national television."
